The latest Linux kernels can use the virtualisation capabilites of modern CPU's to run virtualised operating systems quite easily. To build your own virtual computer that can run the Microsoft Windows operating system, just follow the instructions below.

Install Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 7 using the Ubuntu desktop with Virtualbox.
  1. Go to: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virtualbox and download the latest version for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
  2. Install Virtualbox by double-licking on the downloaded file.
  3. Create a new Virtual machine by reading the help documentation.

Now that you have a virtual Windows OS, you can start and stop it anytime using Virtualbox.
