A VPN connection allows you to work directly on the campus network, as if you were virtually on campus with your computer.

Preferred Cisco VPN connection

--- Setup

  1. Click here to install the VPN software (package: network-manager-vpnc)
  2. Click on the networking icon on the top menu bar panel and select "VPN connections".
  3. Select "Configure VPN"
  4. Click on the "Add" button.
  5. Select a vpnc connection.

Settings

  • Gateway = 146.232.65.1
  • Group name = apple
  • Group password = iphone
  • Username = network username
  • Password = network password

Alternative Microsoft VPN

--- Setup

  1. Click here to install the VPN software (package: network-manager-pptp)
  2. Click on the networking icon on the top menu bar panel and select "VPN connections".
  3. Select "Configure VPN"
  4. Click on the "Add" button.
  5. Select a pptp connection.

Settings

  • Gateway = 146.232.64.10
  • Domain = STB
  • Username = network username
  • Password = network password
